Day 10: The Importance of Eating.

Today I laid in bed until 8:30 - after my crazy day yesterday, I needed a little rest. The kiddos came and got me and so I took care of them before anything - dressed, breakfast, etc. Then I jumped in the shower and realized I had people coming over. I rushed to get ready and straighten up the house, completely forgetting to eat and take my supplements in my frenzy. At 10:30 my energy crashed and a slight headache set in - teaching me the importance of eating. By noon I still hadn't regained any energy and the hint of a headache was still haunting me. I think I have learned my lesson. Eat first - then do chores, even if that means someone might see my mess. Because as Dr. Suess put it "those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

This points out a bit of crazy in my mind. I was so concerned that a friend might see my house in disarray that I completely neglected myself. Not healthy and certainly not a good way to prioritize. I hope the day will get better because we have some fun stuff planned.

The evening ended up being a lot of fun. We went to a hotel and water park with my CharlieBelle, although my headache never quite relented - I was able to make the best of it and push through. We swam, did our nails, ate snacks, and watched a movie.

I have had many people offer condolences on my diagnoses, which perplexes me a little. Not because they are inappropriate in their gesture of kindness, but because I have looked at this whole thing as a blessing. It has offered me a sense of calm and release to know that I am not crazy or lazy, AND it is a very natural and relatively simple fix (not easy, but simple). I do not have to go on drugs and I have every reason to believe I will heal. After week one I feel better than I have in years and that is more encouraging than I can say, goodnight, hoping for a headache free day tomorrow - we have more fun planned!
