Day 17: Sick. Boo.

Today I awoke at 7:00 to a sore throat and runny nose. So frustrated because I am leaving for a very intense seminar tomorrow morning. But, I will not fight it, mentally at least. I have much planned for the day and I am going to try and stick with my commitments, but if I feel overwhelmed it will be surrender time. Chris and Janet Attwood say that you can fight reality all you want and you only lose 100% of the time - what a bargain!

I know this is an obvious statement, but let me ask you this, "How often do you throw yourself against the wall of reality?" I do it more than I care to admit. I am a fighter through and through - which has not always served me, as surrender is a foreign concept in my mind. Whether it is the fact that I am sick or my plans have failed, denial is my first defense. But, today I am trying something different - accept and surrender first. Perhaps my body will use energy to fight the bug I have instead of depleting resources denying it exists.

So between all of the craziness in my day while the kiddos nap - I intend to nap and wake up feeling like a million bucks (and if not a million than at least a thousand!).

I am really looking forward to the upcoming days at The Passion Test seminar - I know I will be learning so much and I can't wait to share it all with you. I am also eager to see how I do on this eating plan while being away from home for four whole days. I feel prepared and ready for success. I will keep you posted. Goodnight.
